My article today is about the binary clock ! This cool and funny clock which I sometimes call Geek’s clock uses a combination of zeros and ones(binary numbers) to display hours, minutes and seconds.

They are mostly digital !

They aren’t that difficult to read, it’s all about using combination of zero(light off) and one(light on). The four bit binary clock shown above has 4 rows and 6 columns. The first 2(L/R) columns represent Hours, the next 2 represent Minutes, and the last 2 represent seconds.

The bottom row in each column represents 1 (or 20), with each row above representing higher powers of two, up to 23 (or 8).

Reading them is as simple as adding the values in each column and join with added value of second column.

Cool Stuff

There are Binary Clock scripts available for websites and real clocks and watches too can be purchased.

In 1940 the Pratt & Whitney Corp. started development of what would prove to be the largest, most complex, and most powerful aviation piston engine ever ever built. This engine was built during the WWII but when the war was over none of these engines could be used for combat aircraft. It did, however, power the last generation of large piston-engined aircraft before the turbojet and turboprop took over, these includes: the Boeing B-50 Superfortress, Convair B-36 Peacemaker, Martin AM-1 Mauler, Douglas C-124 Globemaster, and Boeing C-97 Stratocruiser. The Wasp Major was also used in a number of experimental aircraft that did not reach production status, such as the Republic XP-72, Goodyear F2G, and Northrup XB-35 Flying Wing.

Despite its size and complexity, the Wasp Major was a reliable engine in flight, although it could be troublesome on the ground. It was one of the few engines ever built that could be shut down in perfect operating condition and then have something wrong with it the next time it was started! In the B-36, which used six of these engines, the Air Force developed a series of checks so extensive that a shutdown procedure took six hours and the start-up took four hours.

On 22nd february at around 6:00 pm to 6:15pm two rainbows were observed in Nagpur City! It is a rare phenomenon but really amazing to watch.

I was googling around to find out how this happen, here’s the answer.

First of all, a Rainbow is formed due to the waterdroplets of the rains. Waterdroplets are working just like the Prism. Clouds can also work like Prism as they are also made up of waterdrolets. If sunlight is passing through a thin stratum of clouds and a stratum of rains simultaneously then you can get 2 rainbows at a time.

These 2 rainbows are opposite to each other means the lower rainbow having the red color in the top (color sequence of rainbow will be …..ROYGBIV …above downwards ) and the upper rainbow will have the red color in the bottom (VIBGYOR ) because the Prism formed by the stratum of rains and clouds are opposite to each other .

If you can produce spectrum with the help of prism then you can invert the colors of the prism just by rotating the prism upside down( when the Apex of prism is upwards and the base of the prism is downwards ,at that time you will get reverse spectrum i.e. sequence of spectral colors will be ….VIBGYOR .. above downwards). In other words the apex of the prism formed by the rain stratum is facing up while the apex of the prism formed by the stratum of cloud is facing down thus we are getting 2 rainbows of different ( Reverse ) sequence

As the clouds are thick( less transparent ) and situated above the stratum of rains thus the upper rainbow formed due to clouds is faint as compared to the lower rainbow formed due to the more transparent stratum of rains.

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

See what you think:

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore.

So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.”

- Rebecca – age 8

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”

- Billy – age 4

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.”

- Karl – age 5

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.”

- Chrissy – age 6

“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.”

- Terri – age 4

“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.”

- Danny – age 7

“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss”

“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.”

- Bobby – age 7 (Wow!)

“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.”

- Nikka – age 6

(we need a few million more Nikkas on this planet)

“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.”

- Noelle – age 7

“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.”

- Tommy – age 6

“During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.”

- Cindy – age 8

“My mommy loves me more than anybody.

You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.”

- Clare – age 6

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.”

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.”

- Mary Ann – age 4

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.”

- Lauren – age 4

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” (what an image)

- Karen – age 7

- Mark – age 6

“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.”

7.22 Gigabytes Free in your Computer is a Big Thing !!! Using efficiently your GMAIL account you can store your files safely in a virtual file system.

How to do this ??? Use GMail Drive shell extension.

This is a shell extension that creates a virtual file system linking your GMAIL account allowing you to store files there. It allows you to save and get files stored in your account directly from the Windows Explorer . This software literally adds a new drive on your PC.

In My Computer you will find the virtual drive where you can create folders, copy/paste and drag’n'drop files to Gmail. This is amazing stuff and now that GMAIL is increasing the storage space day-by-day you can an advantage of free storage virtual drive where you can backup your important files in your account itself.

With GMail Drive shell extension you copy your files to the account and then you can get them anytime. When you create a new file the program, it generates an e-mail and send it to your account. The e-mail appears in your incoming folder and file as a Ia program checks your account periodically to see their files were actually transferred without errors and to rebuild the directory structure.

GMail Drive shell extension basically puts a new disk on your PC !

Warning: GMail Drive shell extension is not supported officially by Google ! But who cares ? The feature is safe and works fine !

Enjoy
